Vahidin Hadžić (b. 1975) was only 16 years old when the war started in 1992.
With the fall of the safe zone around Srebrenica in 1995, his mother and four sisters went to the United Nations base while he headed for Šušnjari. In the escape column he found his father, Junuz (b. 1951), who was killed on the way to Nezuk.
“I somehow survived the ambush on Baljkovica, but my father was not so lucky.”
34 members of Vahidin’s family were killed in the 1995 genocide.
Vahidin’s testimony was documented within the multimedia project, “Memento: Fragments of the Srebrenica Genocide,” which is produced by the Srebrenica Memorial Center and the Post-Conflict Research Center.
