Behija Hodžić (b. 1965) lived with her family in Suha before the war. When the war started, she managed to escape to Kladanj.
Over 45 members of her family members were killed in the Genocide, including her father Mehmedalija (b. 1942) and two brothers Mevlid (b. 1972) and Mehmed (b. 1977). She stayed in contact with those in Srebrenica through letters.
“I donated my father’s razor to the Memorial, as well as a photo of the clothes in which he was found. The razer was found next to his body.”
Behija hopes that the mementos will be a message to future generations that “the evil committed never happens again.”
Behija’s testimony was documented within the multimedia project, “Memento: Fragments of the Srebrenica Genocide,” which is produced by the Srebrenica Memorial Center and the Post-Conflict Research Center.
